Lexi didn't think Steve was serious about the climbing in through windows thing. She didn't think he was that invested in proving his ninja prowess to her. It probably should have creeped her out a little that he made any kind of habit of doing that, but it was oddly charming. Besides, she has seen her sister deal with a lot worse. This didn't even rank on the same scale.
Laying on her stomach on her bed, her feet crossed at the ankles in the air, Lexi continued to pore over her books. The history final was going to be brutal. She needed the sugary pick-me-up as a snack in order to power through the rest of the evening's worth of studying. That was why she had snagged Steve's Poptarts in the first place. Her mom was out tonight for some kind of work function. Really, an excuse to have at free booze. Cassie was... god only knows where.
Of course Steve was serious. He couldn't let his reputation be shattered all on account of his poptarts getting snatched up, not that he seriously believed Lexi would do anything to mess with that. If anything, it was an excuse to see her, continue their banter in person.
And maybe an excuse to get out of the house, but nobody needed to know that part.
It really didn't take much effort at all to pull himself up, thanks to years of staying in shape for sports, and soon enough he was on the roof of the Howards residence, looking for the window he knew happened to be Lexi's. He knocked on the window and flashed a grin once she looked over at him, giving him a little flutter of his fingers in a wave.
For a moment, Lexi simply sat there and gaped at the sight of Steve Harrington's face almost pressed up against her bedroom window. Her shared bedroom with Cassie was on the second floor of the house. Which meant he had to have somehow pulled himself up on top of the garage, scampered across the roof past her mom's balcony, and now he's just perched outside her window on the incline of the roof, directly over the front door. One wrong move and he could slide off.
Shit, he could slide off! Lexi jumped out of her bed and rushed to the side window. She pulled up the blinds, released the latches to unlock, and pushed aside the window on the slide track. "Jesus, get down from there!" She tended to get bossier when she was worried. "Someone could see you. Or you know, you could fall and break your neck? Here..." She stepped off to the side. "Can you even fit through there?"
